Note:21 Why I Act to Protect the Number Registry System — and Why This Is About Stability
My actions are not aimed at undermining the system. They are aimed at protecting the functioning of the global number registry system, which is essential for Internet stability. Whether this system is implemented through today’s RIR structure or evolves into something better is secondary. What matters is that the system is neutral, predictable, and non-coercive.
I depend on a stable registry system more than most participants. My businesses, assets, and long-term value exist only if number resources are administered under clear rules, with enforceable rights and consistent governance. Instability directly destroys my economic interests. I therefore have no rational incentive to create disorder.
The danger does not come from market participants who rely on the system to function. It comes when registry authority is misused as a weapon—when management power is turned into leverage for coercion, selective enforcement, or extraction. At that point, the registry stops being infrastructure and becomes a source of systemic risk.
I oppose corruption and abuse because they are the root cause of instability. When a registry is captured by conflicted or corrupt management, trust collapses, investment retreats, and the legitimacy of the entire framework is threatened. This harms everyone who depends on number resources, not just individual actors.
I act from inside the system, not outside it. By scale, exposure, and duration, I am likely among the largest beneficiaries of a stable, rule-based number registry system. That position makes corruption irrational for me by design. My returns come from continuity, renewal, and long-term confidence—not from short-term manipulation.
Stopping institutional abuse is therefore not disruption. It is system defense. Protecting the number registry system sometimes requires confronting those who undermine it from within, so that stability, neutrality, and legitimacy can be preserved for the long term.
